PKGApprove will allow individuals to approve suggested packages and make them readily available to the ISOBuilder tool.

The Basics

The concept of the PKGApprove

PKGApprove for SoftwareFor.org currently has one phase, though more are expected to be planned:

Phase 1

• Ability to create and modify packages approved to be in the CD/DVD.
  • Though packages may be approved, it doesn't necessarily mean that the package will be available in the CD/DVD.
• Creation of administrative suite to add/remove/edit/update available software from SoftwareFor.org.
  • This generates the RSS Feed(s) available to ISOBuilder.
• PKGApprove will request a certain amount of information before it will be accepted into the CD/DVD. Several states will be used to track a Packages progress:

  • Needs More Data
    • Possible fields:

      • Author
      • Site
      • Download(s)
      • Executable
      • Category
      • Location
      • Complexity

      • Version

  • Approved
